PERAPlus 457 Plan

Frequently Asked Questions

Question:
I have a current loan and I'm on a military leave of absence. How do I handle my loan payments?

Answer:
You may continue to make your loan payments via ACH. If your loan was issued prior to October 1, 2011, and your loan repayments are made via payroll deduction, you may submit manual monthly loan payments via cashier’s check, certified check, money order, or personal check made payable to the Colorado PERA 457 Plan. Participants on military leave are allowed to suspend payments for up to five years equal to the time they are on leave. Interest will accrue on missed loan payments and the loan's maturity date will be extended by the length of time that you were on military leave.
