Colorado PERA DC Plan

Frequently Asked Questons

Question:
I was just hired and enrolled in the DC Plan, I tried to change my investment mix over the phone by calling PERA and selecting the DC option, but my Social Security number wasn’t recognized. What’s wrong?

Answer:
If you try to change your investment mix before your employer submitted notification to PERA of your retirement plan selection, your request may be denied. In order to transact with a Voya Participant Service Representative, you will need your PERA Identification Number (PIN), which is mailed after your first contribution is received. If you need immediate access to your account, contact the PERA Customer Service Center at 1-800-759-7372 (do not select the PERAPlus/DC option).

Question:
How do I use the Self-Directed Brokerage Account?

Answer:
You must transfer $1,000 or more to open a Self-Directed Brokerage Account with TD Ameritrade and must keep at least $500 invested in the PERAdvantage funds. Money in the PERAdvantage funds will be used to pay the annual $50 self-directed brokerage fee. You will also be subject to additional transaction and management fees for your activities and investments in the brokerage account. The Plan administration asset-based fee for the Self-Directed Brokerage Account has been reduced to 0 percent because PERA receives revenue sharing from TD Ameritrade.
